LGE-PSIR is an independent predictor of mortality in cardiac amyloidosis: a 250 patient prospective study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background CMR with late gadolinium enhancement technique (LGE) is a candidate reference standard for non invasive diagnosis of light chain and transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (AL, ATTR). However, the nulling is difficult and conflicting results on morphology and LGE have been reported in small retrospective studies. We hypothesize that morphology and LGE can guide differential diagnosis and predict survival in AL and ATTR amyloidosis.

Prognostic Value of Late Gadolinium Enhancement Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in Cardiac Amyloidosis
BACKGROUND The prognosis and treatment of the 2 main types of cardiac amyloidosis, immunoglobulin light chain (AL) and transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis, are substantially influenced by cardiac involvement. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) is a reference standard for the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis, but its potential for stratifying risk is unknown. ...
متن کاملCardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and prognosis in cardiac amyloidosis
BACKGROUND Cardiac involvement is common in amyloidosis and associated with a variably adverse outcome. We have previously shown that cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can assess deposition of amyloid protein in the myocardial interstitium. In this study we assessed the prognostic value of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and gadolinium kinetics in cardiac amyloidosis in a prospective lo...
متن کاملSynthetic phase sensitive inversion recovery late gadolinium enhancement from post-contrast T1-mapping shows excellent agreement with conventional PSIR-LGE for diagnosing myocardial scar
Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging using phase sensitive inversion recovery (PSIR) late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) is the in vivo reference standard for assessing focal myocardial scar. Post-contrast T1-mapping by Modified Look-Locker Inversion recovery (MOLLI) can be used to generate a Synthetic PSIR LGE (SynLGE) image with an image contrast similar to conventional LGE image...
متن کاملComparison of fast multi-slice and standard segmented techniques for detection of late gadolinium enhancement in ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy – a prospective clinical cardiovascular magnetic resonance trial
BACKGROUND Segmented phase-sensitive inversion recovery (PSIR) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) sequences are reference standard for non-invasive evaluation of myocardial fibrosis using late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). Several multi-slice LGE sequences have been introduced for faster acquisition in patients with arrhythmia and insufficient breathhold capability. The aim of this study w...
متن کاملLong-term follow-up of biopsy-proven viral myocarditis: predictors of mortality and incomplete recovery.
OBJECTIVES This study sought to evaluate the long-term mortality in patients with viral myocarditis, and to establish the prognostic value of various clinical, functional, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) parameters. BACKGROUND Long-term mortality of viral myocarditis, as well as potential risk factors for poor clinical outcome, are widely unknown. METHODS A total of 222 consecut...
